The
Grand Ball was a big hit and great fun. Attendance included all
age ranges and was a fun night of dancing for all!
Several
weeks prior to the Grand Ball a tea was held to introduce the ladies to
the ways of the 1800's women.
The night
before the ball TJ provided dance lessons to help things go more
smoothly on the night of the ball. Those who attended the
authentic 1800's event look forward to the next Grand Ball in 2005. |

The
Pony Express and the Sheridan Inn's Birthday Celebration kicked off
Saturday's events.
Real mailed
postcards are stamped at the Sheridan Inn and ready to be sent to real
people.
There was
entertainment and great food with the BBQ. |

The
Parade consisted of authentic traditions of the 1800's with the stage
coach, kids dressed in old attire, the Westernierres, the
EquestiAnnettes riding side saddle, and many other participants.
The parade began at the Sheridan Inn, routed around
to main street and then down 5th Street, back to the Sheridan Inn. |

The
Grinnell activities were great fun with lots of humor. It included
look alike contest with great detail and effort going into the costumes,
replicating the late 1800's.
Pistol
Packin Paul was on hand for sample of her performance for Saturday
nights show, along with the Westernierres.
The grade school kids who wrote their historical
stories read them for the crowds, dressed in their getup as well.
Vendors were on hand for food and beverages and
poster and memorabilia were available for purchase.

The
Wild West Show was spectacular! The stage coach raced in with
Pistol Packin Paula riding on top. The reenactment of the wild
west including Indians, the Cavalry and Calamity Jane added both humor
and entertainment.
The Westernierres were as incredible as ever.
The kids who ride in that event are extremely talented and amazing in
their feats!
The upcoming Wild West Show will be something to
really look forward to!! |
